Interesting articles delivered

Have used the app daily for some time with no problems.

Degrades User Experience

The Good. + Salon tweets one of their articles that seems interesting. + I tap the link in Twitter and the article opens in Safari. The Bad. - Salon banner in Safari directs me to Salon app. - The Salon app does not direct me to the article. - The Salon article cannot be found in the Salon app. - The Salon app contains more intrusive ads than the Salon web page in Safari. Conclusion. The Salon app is more than a waste of time, it actively does everything possible to waste your time.

Salon app

Tiny tiny tiny print with no way to enlarge the font. Frustrating. That along with the crashes and other assorted bugs.

Bugs right from the start

Headlines on front page are all truncated. Turning the phone to landscape helps a bit but they are still truncated. Please fix. Also there was a Json error that popped up while reading an article.

Magazine style reading like Zite

It was sad to see Zite leave as a choice for reading interactive content thank goodness there are still applications like this one that offer a choice of an customizable electronic reading solution similar to Zite. I like the way that this application presents itself, similar to Zite. I am not fond of the Flipboards way of doing things. I find my experience using Salon better, more enjoyable. Yes it does crash. I have been in the middle of some interesting articles and have the application crash and have to restart. I have to find the article I was reading again. Also does not appear it is possible to forward an article to something like pocket. So there are areas for improvement. The developers are constantly updating the application bravo!

News and gossip

I enjoy the actual news articles, but skip over the gossip....Im totally not interested in actors lives etc. The site is rather dysfunctional and disgusting. It often wont download or load articles. Reading Salon is not very satisfying because of the glitches.

Okay

The app would be better if we could log on and post comments without having to go through web browser.

Great content, buggy app

Love the articles and the site. I read it on the subway. Unfortunately the app crashes a lot as my phone finds and loses a signal. Turning the phone to airplane mode helps. When saving articles for offline reading, it is a bit of a crap shoot if they will be available. Some embedded content does not relay to offline, ok for videos, annoying for embedded Tweets that authors reference but you can only guess what was tweeted. Overall I do enjoy having one of my favorite sites to read on my commute.

Food for thought is aplenty

I find many in-depth written articles that are quite informative. The app works great for me. Generally, I use my iPad or iPhone on Wi-Fi

Well presented, well argued, and thought provoking!!

Every day Im presented with articles that argue from a basis of fact or informed insight. Wouldnt miss checking this site, daily!!

Love it

Its a great source for thought provoking eclectic articles.

Only first few words of headline shows

No matter how small I set the text size internally in the app or on my phone, I can only see the first few words of any headline. No way to know what the story is. I gave up and stopped reading months ago because of this. So frustrating.

Crap

I downloaded the latest update and now it will not load! I tried many times. App was never great but at least it was usable. Not any more... Very disappointing.

Bernie Sanders?

The presidential candidate who just swept three caucuses... Is Salon going to even mention those wins? Or should we just expect more Trump and terrorism articles?

Interface problems

Finally allows landscape, but front page now useless in portrait orientation--can only see a few words of headlines. Somewhat irritating that stories cant be sorted by date.

Great info!

Great content. Real critical thinking about the world we live in.

Giving up

I like the articles in Salon and this app used to open on iPad (sometimes taking multiple attempts). Now after some iOS upgrades it will not open. This app will be gone from my iPad until it works. Ill have to go back to using the browser for Salon content, which means Ill be reading it less since your website is slow and clunky on the iPad.

So biased they might as well be racist too.

All Hillary and Trump, all the time. All negative towards Bernie. Why dont they just start writing all the racist ideas they are really thinking? This must be owned by time armed or CNN or one of the Koch Brothers etc.
